International Women’s Day – celebrating the ladies of FMI!

International Women’s Day is celebrated across the world on the 8th March, to encourage and recognise the achievements of women globally. With the day being a focal point in the movement for women’s rights over the decades.

At FMI agency, women make up a large proportion of our team based in Chilton, Buckinghamshire. We are a passionate posse of talented, hard-working and FUN ladies, who are experts in the field of Brand Engagement.

In this blog, we celebrate the women of FMI and hear a little more about their personal goals, life-long dreams and why they believe that women are brilliant!

Lisa Dimbleby – Senior Account Manager

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

I wanted to make props for stage and film!

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

Having long established client relationships. I’ve worked at FMI from the very beginning in 2009.

Why do you think women are brilliant?

We listen, can multitask, have empathy and great attention to detail! (clearly not exclusively for women – a few men can do this too!)

Hannah Spinks – Senior Account Manager

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

I always dreamt of being an Irish Dancer in a Michael Flatley show. I watched Riverdance every time I went to my Nan’s growing up and I was obsessed!

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

I think working so closely on the Huawei account and seeing it go from strength to strength. We were about a year into working with Huawei when I first started and we’re now almost four years in, with the account growing every month. My recent promotion to Senior Account Manager was also a huge honour for me of course.

Why do you think women are brilliant?

I’ve grown up in a family of strong women – at home it was Mum, my two sisters and me and I’ve got countless aunties, cousins and a crazy Irish Nan to boot! I think women are expert jugglers – I’ve always watched women excel in their careers whilst raising families and maintaining a close group of friends – basically we’re just fabulous!

Bianca Compton – Account Executive

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

To work all over the world.

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

Working directly with many clients and receiving great feedback for the projects I have delivered.

Why do you think women are brilliant?

Because we are amazing at multitasking, being organised and showing emotion.

Clare Bingham – Engagement & Operations Director

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

To run my own design agency, drive a BMW cabriolet and have a briefcase! Second, I would have loved to dance on the stage in the West End… “Jazz Hands”!

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

To step up to lead the agency in July 2019. I was thrilled to be asked to take the reins, and I’m loving being able to put my stamp on the agency and steer its future success and growth.

Why do you think women are brilliant?

Ooh a controversial question. Certainly in the context of running an agency women are just superb at multitasking and attention to detail. But without doubt we need the full mix of the team to deliver great brand engagement solutions for our clients.

Amy Mak – Marketing & Events Intern

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

My dream career growing up was to be an actress or teacher.

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

I feel my greatest achievement whilst working at FMI has been my ability to pick up/learn new skills fast and understand when to use them which has kept me motivated.

Why do you think women are brilliant?

I think women are brilliant because of their confidence and positive attitudes to helping and serving others.

Issy Haven – Account & Content Executive

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

I wanted to work at Disney!

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

Seeing an immediate impact from my creative skills.

Why do you think women are brilliant?

Women are resilient, ambitious creatures. Female input always adds value to any project! International Women’s Day remains an important day of recognition for women across the world.

Fran Gilman – Senior Account Manager

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

I didn’t particularly have a ‘dream’ career in-mind growing up – although I always aspired to work in the creative sector (be it dance, art, design etc.) which guided me to where I am now.

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

Having joined FMI whilst still at university I have been lucky enough to experience lots of great achievements as I’ve progressed through the agency. Most notably (and most fun), joining a group of Brand Ambassadors at a Porsche Driving Experience – safe to say I don’t have a need for speed!

Why do you think women are brilliant?

The women in our agency are strong-willed, ambitious and have passion – all characteristics which make for brilliant women!

Steph Griggs – Senior Events Manager

What was your career ‘dream’ growing up?

I really wanted to work in TV and studied Live Studio Production at University, but in the end I felt events suited me better due to the variety!

What has been your greatest achievement working at FMI?

Managing overseas events and large budgets independently.

Why do you think women are brilliant?

Because we strive for the best in ourselves and each other.
